Key Projects: Design, Supply, and Installation of Lightning Protection System for EDC Wind Farm Switchyard located at Burgos, Ilocos Norte.
As part of Energy Development Corporation’s
expansion in renewable sources of energy, the
company has embarked on a 150 mw windmill
farm at Burgos Ilocos Norte.
In order to ensure that their facilities are
protected against lightning, EDC has partnered
with LCDC for the design and supply of Ellips
Lightning Protection System with a parameter of
level 2 protection which is the one recommended
for plants and factories.
The main focus of protection was their switchyard
connecting the windmills into the transmission
grid.
